Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland

The official body responsible for safeguarding the rights of those with mental disorder. The site offers a useful summary of the current law, access to MWCS publications and copies of official forms. It also covers specific material on the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003; the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000; the Criminal Procedures (Scotland) Act 1995; and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.

Website of Scotland’s leading mental health charity. The “Know Your Rights” section has good user friendly guides to the Mental Health legislation, access to medical records, employment rights and welfare benefits.
