Time needed:

An introductory session, then some preparation time followed by an actual trial.

Perhaps 60 or 70 minutes for the trial.

Timing will depend on a large number of things – most of which cannot be predicted accurately – so be prepared to be flexible.

If need be the “judge” can gently try to speed up or slow down the trial as it progresses.
